
While the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has admitted paying a lump sum of $12 million to what they claim were some militant groups in the Niger Delta, The Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND)has swiftly reacted to NNPC's claim issuing a strong statement to blow up pipelines in the Niger Delta region within the next 30 days. MEND has accused the Delta State Governor for using the alleged gangs as front.
