Commissioner Accuses Kalu of Operating Foreign Accounts
ABUJA — A FORMER Commissioner in Abia State, Mr. Moses Agoh, has put more heat on former Governor Orji Kalu, accusing him of running the state treasury like a “family account.” Agoh who served as Commissioner for Finance under Kalu in a confessional statement to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), alleged that Kalu had substantial interest in banks in The Gambia, Liberia and Sierra-Leone, and that EFCC’s allegations against Kalu were correct. APGA Crisis: Umeh Urges Police To Arrest Iwu, Okorie
The lingering crisis in the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has taken a new turn as the party’s Chairman, Victor Umeh, has petitioned the Inspector General Of Police (IGP), Mike Okiro, urging him to investigate and prosecute both the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Maurice Iwu, and former Chairman of the party, Chekwas Okorie, for criminal offences bothering on forgery and altering of documents to obtain leadership of the party. Orji Kalu Knows Fate Tomorrow
A FEDERAL High Court judge, Justice Binta Murtala-Nyako would decide tomorrow whether or not to admit immediate past governor of Abia state, Orji Uzor Kalu to bail. Kalu is accused by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) of allegedly laundering N2.7 billion belonging to the state for which a 107 count charge is levied by the anti-corruption agency.
